Executive Outplacements
1 | Experience and Empathy
We are mindful that everyone’s circumstances and needs are different and this is reflected in everything we do. Our outplacement team has worked on many engagements across multiple industries, and brings not only an understanding, but also personal experience of the value that this process holds at a critical juncture in one’s career and life.
2 | Initial Contact
Introduction to Select’s Outplacement approach, letting individuals know that we are ‘in their corner’ to successfully transition to the next stage of their career. This is particularly important if the news has come unexpectedly.
3 | Assessment
Our Profiler, an in-house self-assessment tool, is completed to help with ‘positioning’ and to express, in one’s own language, accomplishments, areas of strength and weakness as well as goals. The ‘who I am, what I have achieved and where I want to go’ comes more into focus. We also offer 16PF, EQi, IQ, or other tests, as required.
4 | Career Direction
This is a time to reflect on one’s career path as well as to consider alternative options; for example, the entrepreneur route, a new field, or, indeed, retirement. Select’s diverse team of experienced professionals and executive coaches takes a broad-ranging, collaborative approach to identify and explore options.
5 | Written Skills
Developing a CV, LinkedIn profile, emailing style as well as understanding how application forms are designed and how best to approach prospective employers. We also assist with visualising and authoring presentations.
6 | Approaching the Market
Strategically determine the optimal way forward. Target and research chosen industries and companies with our Corporate Analyst to identify routes of entry while also developing and capitalising on both personal and professional networks.
7 | Interview, Negotiation & Closing Skills
Consultations that focus on areas where assistance is needed: interview techniques, roleplays, management and negotiation of contracts.
8 | Life-long Relationship
We develop life-long relationships and remain available to individuals to reach out for advice on a given situation.
